Swiss International Mountain Marathon

Sample map

Each team receives two scale maps after the start 1:25'000. The items to be approached are from the implementation 2021 printed for all courses. The independent marking of the controls after the mass start is no longer necessary. But don't worry, there will be one more adventurous weekend ahead. This is how you see the card for the first time at the mass start, where the cards will be handed over.

The following information is also printed:

  • Course name
  • Distance and incline, both on the assumed ideal route
  • Item description symbolically according to the IOF standard. For more information, see the link below
  • Manned posts in the field (for emergencies, equipped with radio), shown with a 4-way arrow
  • Telephone number for unsubscriptions during run task or abort
  • Information about emergency procedures
The transit times are in the 6th column of the symbolic control description. Contrary to the IOF standard, the symbols for crossing, forking and bending are not in the sixth but in the seventh column. Manned posts (for emergencies, equipped with radio) are given in the seventh column. Radio posts that cannot be reached (e.g. Rätschenjoch on the southern edge of the map) are also shown to make it easier to raise an alarm.
A sample map and description of selected symbols and their translation are available for download. When printing the PDF, please select "Actual size" so that the scale is correct.
